Headteacher’s Welcome
Polesden Lacey Infant School is a small, happy and inspiring school with three classes and an independent Playschool sharing the same site.
Our school provides a broad, balanced curriculum which places the needs of our young children at its heart. Children have the opportunity to learn both inside and outside as well as through a wide range of additional activities and clubs.
Our school draws on excellent resources. Our staff encompasses a breadth of expertise and experience across the curriculum whilst our outside learning environment provides stimulating opportunities for our children to learn in.
From their first introduction to Polesden Lacey Infant School through the Summer Club until their transfer to Junior School, our children grow in confidence, develop their independence and have real opportunities to use their individual talents.
We develop in pupils a love of learning that is exciting, challenging and motivating. By nurturing social, emotional and physical development, our children are helped to be happy in their world. Through our work on being an eco and fairtrade school the children develop an understanding of the importance of looking after our world and the role they have in this. Children deserve the best possible education, and we believe that this is best achieved by fostering a partnership with parents.
The strong sense of community at the school is often remarked upon. We have a genuine open door policy and interaction between home and school is positively promoted. Many parents support the school by helping in classrooms and by working within the Friends Association.
We are very proud of Polesden Lacey Infant School and strive to ensure that everyone who has been a part of our school, has fond and happy memories of their time here whilst also being fully prepared academically and emotionally to move onto the next phase in their education.
I very much enjoy showing prospective parents around at any time during the year. Often individual appointments can be arranged. We also have a short video showing our lovely school. Please follow the link below to watch it.
