Physical Education
At Polesden Lacey Infant School we believe that physical education provides a vital and unique contribution to a pupil’s physical and emotional development. Our vision for PE and Sport is to provide high quality PE and Sport for all children in school. We aim to provide both competitive opportunities for extra-curricular sport and well planned and delivered PE lessons, which develop a love of sport for all children and an understanding of the importance of exercise in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
We celebrate children's participation and achievements in being active and leading a healthy lifestyle through our celebration book. We encourage children to bring in photos and a piece of writing to be put in the book and share in assembly.
The school follow the Merton Schools PE Curriculum adapting where necessary to meet the needs of our children.
The children take part in the 'Mile Run' every Monday and Jump Start Jonny the other days of the week.
All three classes take part in a Forest School session each week which helps develop their fine and gross motor skills and other personal, social and emotional skills crucial for learning.
