All tours will include a presentation by the headteacher, with question and answer session, followed by a tour of the school and our lovely grounds. The whole session will last approximately 90 minutes.

If at all possible we would ask that young children do not accompany you as the session is quite lengthy and young child often get bored, making it more difficult for other families to hear the presentation. We do however, completely understand that getting childcare isn't always possible and there are occasions where you will need to bring your child with you.

For those who are new to the school or who are looking at Polesden Lacey Infant School for your child we have included some recent quotes from current parents.  They make us blush a little but they also encapsulate what we do and show that we live and breath our vision and values.

'As a parent my main priority is to find a safe environment where my girls will feel secure to step out of their comfort zones and grow. Where they can be themselves and be curious both in and outside of the classroom. An environment that encourages mistakes as necessary steps in learning and not only teaches the curriculum but encourages and supports parents and pupils to make positive choices to shape a brighter, sustainable future for our planet.

Our daughter was taught by all the current teaching staff and she was never a number in a room. She was an individual with a personality that got taught in a personalised way that challenged her but brought the best out of her.' Current Reception and last year's Year 2 parent.

'I can not praise Polesden enough for their handling of the school situation during lockdown. My other daughter (at a private school) had a very different experience and I feel other schools could learn a lot from Ms Mole and the management and teaching team at Polesden. The messaging and direction was clear throughout, the pastoral care was constant and we still felt so part of the Polesden family even when the school was closed. It reaffirmed my belief that this is a truly special little school.' Current Reception and current Year 2 parent.

'We have been so amazed by how Polesden Lacey Infant School have dealt with the pandemic. They went above and beyond to ensure the children were safe, happy and had access to their education as best they could. Every single member of staff put in extra time to enable the school to still function and the fact they even managed to get the year 2 class back in before they moved on to their new schools was truly wonderful.  We honestly believe this school handled it better than anywhere else and we are truly impressed.' Current Reception and current Year 2 parent.

“This is a wonderful school with wonderful staff who create a very inspiring, warm and nurturing learning environment for our children.

The management during the pandemic and school closure showed just how amazing the school is. We were overwhelmed by the amount of hard work, love and care that was put into supporting us at home and keeping a strong connection with the children. They loved the regular video story times, personal messages from their class teacher and photos of their classmates in the weekly newsletters.

The school made a huge effort to get our year two children back into school for a short period of time at the end of the term. It meant so much to them having a closure and being able to say good-bye before moving on to their junior schools.

Thank you so much for being such an amazing team and for making this school such a perfect place for our children to start their educational journey.” Current Reception and last year's Year 2 parent.

Please see below some comments from our remote learning offer parent survey (February 2021)

'I think the most helpful thing is to have a mix of live and pre recorded lessons, particularly for core maths and English.' - Year 2 parent

'Mrs Binding and Mrs Leggatt have provided wonderful home learning packs and live/pre recorded sessions. I don’t think we could ask for more. More games ideas and suggestions of how to make tasks fun have been included recently and I’ve found these really helpful as our son responds so much better to these than more formal, sitting at a table to learn, tasks. The zoom sessions have evolved and he really engages with the activities and gets so much from the teacher and class interaction. I feel like the teachers are there if we have any questions. The writing email sent today was also helpful as I wasn’t sure what to expect from his writing and this provided some reassurance and helpful pointers.' Reception parent

'We have found the remote learning really comprehensive. The live lesson with Miss Williams is great, it really sets up the day for our son and is interactive and fun. We find the current balance of live lessons works well for us with juggling our daughter's work too. The work is laid out really clearly on google classroom which makes it easy to access and easy to know what work to cover each day. There has also been a good amount of work for each day and a good variety of work.' Year 1 parent

'Very good preparation from the teacher to clearly set out lessons and what is required for the week so limited advance planning required by parent/carer which helps greatly. Work is also loaded in a timely manner to allow time for printing and organising.' Year 2 parent

'Just about the right level of activities for reception children. I have been very impressed.' Reception parent

'My son is attending school for 4 days a week, however on a Friday, the zoom classes are a great opportunity to meet the rest of the class and talk through the rest of the work. I think the online prerecorded lessons are great and the variety is good. I do also like the structure on google classroom - so you can see by day, so on a Friday I know exactly what work he needs to do , reassured that the rest has already been completed whilst in school . Also value the feedback from Mrs Quinn on his Friday work - particularly as she's seen him during the week.' Year 2 parent

'The morning Zoom lessons are such a great start to the day.' Year 1 parent
