Friends of Polesden Lacey Infant School

Friends Committee for Polesden Lacey Infant School Vision Statement

The Friends of Polesden Lacey Infant School is open to anyone who has an interest in supporting the School in fundraising and other ways. It is run by a committee of enthusiastic parents and works in close partnership with the School to:

Further the welfare of the School and its children

Foster good relations among members

Increase parents’ understanding of the aims and work of the School

Provide amenities not otherwise available to the School

Past fund raising efforts have provided state of the art ICT equipment as well as superb outdoor resources such as the Storyteller’s Chair, woodland seating and much loved Sensory Garden. Our most recent priority has been a new safety surface for our playground with bright and colourful markings for the children to enjoy.

The Committee meet about once every term to plan new activities and discuss how funds raised should be spent on the School.

Throughout the year we run a programme of events, some of which are for fundraising, some are purely social and are often a mix of the two! These include fairs, cake sales, competitions and sponsored bounces, Each summer we also organise the School’s entry for the Bookham Village Day Parade and this year we were absolutely delighted to win top prize, once again, for our entry.

We are very grateful to the parents on the Committee as an enormous effort goes into making all of these activities a success.

We hope that all parents consider themselves to be Friends and as such there are a number of ways we can all support the School. You can volunteer to join the Committee as an individual or a couple. We like new and existing parents to feel very much a part of the successful running of Polesden Lacey School and value any part you can play. As well as being fun and rewarding, being a Friend on the Committee is an excellent way of getting to know people.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
